Minutes of the Adrian Amateur Radio Club
There were 20 in attendance.
Bill WB8NPI won the 50/50 raffle with $14 in the pot.
Norm W8TTH made the motion to accept the Secretary’s Report as published in the Tickler; Larry W8LNR seconded.
Mark NU8Z presented the Treasurer’s Report, noting that dues are due in January. Kevin N8JMN (?) motioned to approve the Treasurer’s Report; Denny WE8Z seconded.
Ginny welcomed everyone. There was a new guy, Jeremy.
Elections—Ginny got the most votes for President, so she’s president, and Bob K2IBM was the runner-up, so he’s vice-president.
We took a vote about whether to cancel next month’s meeting (Christmas Day) or move it back a week. We decided to cancel it. We will meet again in January.
Cletus K8TLT reports that RACES has a new cross-band repeater, frequencies 144.5 and 44.1. If anyone has a few hours, Cletus would like to check the coverage, with one person monitoring the station and Cletus (and others?) driving around.
Cletus also passed around an article about power grids being hacked and taken down, like what happened in the Ukraine in 2015, so it does happen.
Someone asked about the Great Lakes Ham Con, so Ginny gave an overview of how it went.
December 2nd is the Fulton County Hamfest in Delta at the Memorial Hall.
Mark NU8Z made the motion to adjourn, and Denny seconded.
Following the meeting, Mark gave a demo of the new FT8 digital mode, which captures signals you can’t even hear!
