Hi everyone. I hope are all healthy and doing well this Christmas Season. Winter has been a little unusual this year and I like the fact that we haven’t had much snow, but what we have got has been enough for me. Well maybe we can have a little more snow for Christmas day, but then it can go away.
Norm W8TTH and I did attend one hamfest this month and that was the Fulton County Amateur Radio Club’s Winterfest which was held in Delta, Ohio on December 2nd. It was great to see all of our friends from the surrounding clubs. The Hazel Park Amateur Radio Club will be holding their hamfest on January 28 in Madison Heights, MI. It is usually a good show to attend, if you get the chance.
Mark NU8Z gave a great presentation at the meeting last month on FT-8 a new Digital mode. It was very interesting and a lot of people seemed anxious to go home and check it out. You can read all about it in last month’s Tickler.
I don’t have a lot to say this month and I am sure I have forgotten something that I wanted to say. I will hopefully remember it all by the next meeting. Can you believe it is already the end of 2017? This year has really flown by us.
Don’t forget to check out the website at www.w8tqe.com and give any information or pictures to Bob K2IBM that you would like to post on the site. He is a great web master and we all should appreciate the way he keeps up the website. Also, this newsletter would not be possible without our Tickler Team. Please send information to Mark NU8Z. He also needs support from you by sending him articles and pictures. Without these two fellows, information about our club and upcoming events would not be readily available for all of us. Thank them both the great job they do for the club.
We will not be having a meeting this month, because the date would fall on Christmas night.
That being said I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. Enjoy any time you may have off from work with your family and friends. Life is too short not to.
I will see you all on January 29th.
