Winter is upon us. I have seen a few snow flurries, but nothing that is able to stick on the ground as of yet. Thank goodness the stuff we got last week was rain and not snow or we would have been in lots of trouble. I did get both of my knees replaced in October and I am walking around without any walker or cane, however I am not running any races nor do I intend to. I go back to the surgeon at the end of this month and am also still going to therapy. I hope to get back to work soon, but that will be up to the doctor and the therapist.
Norm W8TTH and I went to the Fort Wayne Hamfest once again this year and once again enjoyed seeing all our friends and made a couple of sales. I did see a few people from our club there, but not nearly as many as I had hoped to see.
Have a Great Thanksgiving Day and enjoy your family and friends. I know you will enjoy all of the goodies that will be prepared for the holiday. We will be having the festivities at our house although my daughters will be setting up and preparing almost everything in the kitchen. I am still doing some of the baking and preparing the turkey, but they can do most the running around.
Don’t forget to check into the Sunday night net located at 145.37 on your 2 meter radio at 8:00 p.m. Be sure to thank Cletus K8TLT for the great job he is doing running the Adrian Amateur Radio/ARES net every week for all of us.
Don’t forget to check out the website at www.w8tqe.com to get all kinds of club information. Also please send new items to Bob K2IBM, so he can post them. He is our web master and we need to show our support to him and the club by sharing items for the website. Mark NU8Z also needs information for The Tickler, so please don’t forget the newsletter committee either.
I missed last month’s meeting, because I was in rehab at the Lenawee Health Care Facility for my knees, but I hope to see you all at this month’s meeting which will be held on November 27th.
